Exclusive interview with Abby Ryder Fortson, American Actress

By Jean-Paul Eliard
The  July 07 2018

Hi Abby, first, I'm very happy to do this interview about you
Hi Jean-Paul, thank you for having me!

What did you like about the storyline and  your role in Ant-Man and the Wasp?
I really liked that Cassie is a strong, independent character that really tries to protect her dad because she knows he needs to be Ant-man.
I appreciate that Scott (Paul Rudd) is trying to be a great dad (to me :-)
I like that these films are really about Family and helping each other.

How was the filming of Ant-Man and the Wasp?
It was really fun. I loved doing the maze and sliding down the cardboard slide that my dad(Scott) had made.
I love playing Cassie because she's a lot like me. Peyton, the director, is great because he is funny nice and makes everyone feel comfortable.
Working with Paul Rudd was great because he's always making me laugh.
Evangeline Lily stands as a model to young girls to keep following your dreams because her dream was to become a superhero.

Would you like to do other movies franchises at Marvel / Disney?
Yes. I love the Marvel / Disney movies. I'm looking forward to my character Cassie, growing up more and becoming a super hero, something I'd love to play as well.

When and  why did you choose to be an actress?
My parents are actors. I kept going to their auditions with them when

I was 2, 3, and 4 and I one day said, "When can I do this? Where's my audition?"
I got my first audition when I was 3 and booked it with my Dad and we shot the commercial on my birthday when I turned 4.
I like playing different parts and getting to be other people and bring characters to life.

What role would you like to play and what kind of film?
I would either like to play a female warrior or a superhero like the Wasp. I want to keep playing strong characters in a movie that can inspire people and capture people's imagination.

To be an actress at 10 years old, is that a problem for the school?
No, not at all. I really like school and study a lot and bring my work with me where ever I go. I also have a studio teacher who coordinates with my regular teacher to make sure I'm getting my work done and not missing anything.

What is your next challenge?
I just starred in a great episode of the HBO show ROOM 104 playing a strong girl fighting to reconnect her family and bring back her dad. It has a Harry Potter element to it which I loved because I love the Harry Potter series.
I'm currently challenging myself in my school's reading program to read as close to 20 thousand minutes as possible.
I'm currently up to 7 thousand. My favorite books I've read are: A Series of Unfortunate Events, Wings of Fire, Harry Potter, and the Little House Books (Little House on the  Prairie, etc…)
I'm also playing a lot of soccer and want to play professionally someday. I am starting soccer camp soon and want to learn to play really well.

Do you wish to add something?
I hope my work inspires other kids to follow their dreams and work for what they want. It doesn't matter who you are, who you're parents are, or where you come from, you can have a dream and make it come true.

Thank you very much for your interview  Abby and I wish you the best for your future.
Thank you Jean-Paul very much. It was my pleasure.
